Investigation of the dark matter distribution with Chandra
Abstract
We investigate the dark matter distributions in the central region of two clusters of galaxies (A1835 and MKW03S) with a deprojection method. N-body simulations assumed the standard cold dark matter predicts the dark matter distribution shows universal profilesr- := 1.0 - 2.0, while observations of dwarf and low surface brightness galaxies seem to favor the presence of a relatively flat core: 0 << 1. To investigate the dark matter distributions in the central region of clusters of galaxies, we analyze the Chandra data of A1835 and MKW03S with the deprojection method. We derive the dark matter distribution without the assumption of analytical models (i.e. NFW ormodel). The profiles of these two clusters are= 1.2+0.2 (r < 500 -0.2 kpc) and= 1.0+0.2 (r < 300 kpc) for A1835 and MKW03W, respectively. -0.3 We compare these results with some numerical simulations assuming either the cold dark matter or self interaction dark matter.
